The Blind Side
In my opinion human beings have the possibility, in a way, to choose their destiny. It is my deep belief that there are two energies in life that make the way things will be.
On the one hand, we have a positive energy that for ease of understanding we will call LOVE, but we could also call it COURAGE, HONOUR, COMMITMENT, PASSION, etc. If this energy is present, the end result of it will be its normal consequence, that is, an action which transcends its own nature turning it into something of higher quality. Let me give an example that can explain what I mean. On the 24th of november 2014, the Italian people as a nation were celebrating, while the space lab was orbiting over Peru, that a space craft reached it taking the first ever Italian woman astronaut. This step in the conquest of space was made possible because the engineers involved in it loved their job. Their mission would not have succeeded if material interest had been the first or only aim. But even though they had not done it only as an act of faith, the main thing is that these people were truly and completely committed to what they were doing and the idea behind it.
In the film the main character Leigh Anne Tuhoy (Sandra Bullock) really loves Michael Oher (Quinton Aaron) despite his background and race. She creates an authentic family bond that has as its consequence the sublimation of a human life turning chaos and misery into happiness and well-being, derailment into productivity. These actions of love illuminate not only the lives of the people directly involved but also of all the fans who enjoy and are touched by the sports achievements of Michael.
This happens when the true and basic propulsion of things is love. Like a stone thrown in the middle of a lake where the resulting waves are interconnected with each other and each is a necessary and inevitable consequence of the other.
As mentioned above, we also have the negative energy which produces its own consequences true to their nature, that is to say, chaos, hate and destruction for the sake of destruction.
In the end, it is up to us to decide which energy will be the basic influence that ultimately drives our lives.
For all of the above I recommend this film which represents a good example of what I mean.
